Verizon, why no Note.

This is bugging me; I live in Philadelphia and there is no 4G LTE. I've been pondering the idea of getting a tablet with a data connection for use when I am on the train/around town. I love my Note, but there are times when I need the size of a tablet.

Verizon has a new plan where you share your data connection against 10 devices; so for the price of one data plan my cell phone and my tablet would use the same bandwidth.

I wish Verizon had the Note; the closest thing to the Note with them would be the SIII.

I guess I could always use my Notes tethering for it LOL; it's just a headache sometimes because I have to enable it, then connect.

The rumors of the Samsung Journal (CDMA Note) started in January, but nothing every came of them. There's also the 5.4" HTC One XXL (stupid name), but it's still in the rumor stages. Possibly Verizon & Samsung are waiting on the Note II in 3Q or 4Q 2012.

Verizon just expanded their 4G network into Philadelphia. You could always get a Jetpack ($20/m) and connect your tablet to Verizon's network that way ($60/2Gb/m). Then if Verizon gets the Journal or equivalent in 4Q 2012, just add that phone ($40/m) to your share plan. Also, you could use the Jetpack to connect your current Note to Verizon 4G network ($0). Just watch your data usage. You may need a larger share plan.

I'm contemplating on the S3 too.

Note is great, the problem I have is after having a phone of that size; anything at the Nexus level or below is just WAY to small. Seems the S3 comes in at 4.8" versus the 5.3" Note.

If I can get away with an S3 and a Tablet; I'd be good. Tablet is more for reading books, emails, surfing, etc while I'm on the train going to/from work. The phone helps but it is small. I consider the phone to be more of a communication/quick review tool.

Funny thing, I have an iPad from my company for which I do all this now; just hate that it's an iPad. I've since lost my love for Apple when I got rid of the iPhone 4S for the Galaxy Note.

Glad to see some talk about this... I'm waiting on htc phablet or Samsung note for vz too...

The LG one seems like it will be the first out of the gate for VZW since that's the only one that any information has been dug up about (other than the rumored HTC one). But after that the soonest you'd see something else would be the Note 2 whenever that's released later this year IMO. The LG version will fill the gap for a Verizon "phablet" at this point and, since Samsung is already working on a Note 2, I seriously doubt they'd bother to manufacture (or Verizon would agree to sell) an "older" model rebuilt with CDMA radios when a new one is around the corner.

Nevermind!

I just played with a Sprint S3 and there is no way in hell I would give up my note. That S3 is SOOOO SMALL!

So I had the opposite reaction - I played with the Sprint version of the SGIII, and I'm seriously considering dropping my Rezound for it... I think I would be ok with it instead of a Note.
(But I am going to wait a few weeks for feedback from vzw users to see if Samsung has figured out how to make cdma radios that aren't crap yet).

It's tough going from a 5.3" screen to a 4.8".

The sad part; I have a big problem holding on to phones, constantly dropping/tossing them. Since I've had the Note, I've never dropped it. I think for me it's just more comfortable since I have large hands.

I could see that being tough, maybe if I already had the note it would be an issue. But coming from my 4.3" Rezound, the SGIII is at least an upgrade. I'd love if I had the choice between a note, a HTC version, and the sgiii -- but without that choice on vzw, the temptation to just grab the sgiii is building....

Yeah, that's where I'm at. I need a tablet with data and I don't want to take on a second data plan with AT&T, nor do I want to constantly turn on my dang tethering. It's just inconvenient.

You think 4.8 inches is SMALL? You're phone spoiled. That's a huge screen.

The 4.3 inch in my RAZR is pretty big for a cell phone.
