Verizon Won't Change Names

When the wife & I signed up with Verizon over two years ago on individual plans everything was fine & dandy. So Vzw decided to offer the Family Share Plan, which was cheaper for us then to continue with individual plans. The wife was with them before I came on board a few months later, but when we swiched to the FSP, they made me the main account holder.

Now that I've left Vzw this past Dec. we've been trying to get them to switch her account, she is still with them, into her name but vzw won't do it. What is the deal with this. They keep giving us some run around about doing it.

Any ideas why they may not change the names on her single account?

Thnx.

If both lines were under your name, then you'll have to do an assumption of liability on the remaining line. You'll have to call CS and tell them you want your wife to take over the remaining line. She will then give her credit info and go thorough a check. if it goes through, she will now be the legal owner of the the line.

Both lines was not in my name. The wife signed up with Vzw a few months before I did and we were on individual plans. I'm not sure how or why they chose my name for the FSP but it was okay.
I want it out of my name since I'm not with them anymore. I think she don't like the idea they want to do another credit check just to transfer names.

Well if its in your name, doing an assumption of liability is the only way to go. Also unless your planing on buying a house in the very near future, the hit she'll take on her credit score shouldn't be much of a concern.

I understand what you're saying and I understand what she is saying. Why would you put a customer through it who's been with you for almost 3 years now. I don't know if they did a credit check when she first got the phone or not but why risk loosing a customer by putting him/her through it?

It's the games alot of these companies put you through. I've already dumped them and she probably will when this contract is up now.

Thnx.
