Verizon: You Don't Need or Want Unlimited Data

Jack E. Gold is Founder and President at J.Gold Associates, LLC., a technology industry analyst firm.

The thoughts, opinions and suggestions of the author may not necessarily reflect those of Verizon Wireless.

"Many believe that unlimited data is about the ability to do whatever you want on a mobile device while enjoying the freedom of not being required to pay extra charges. Nobody likes to think that they are restricted when they access the Internet, and we have grown accustomed to wired Internet access from home or work that doesn’t impose limits."

It is quite a read and gives reasons why we don't necessarily want to use an unlimited amount of wireless data.

good read from BGR, although he is as far to the right as Gold is to the left.

I've been with VZW for 20+ years and have always been in a hurry for the next best thing... and as much as VZW gets bad mouthed, they do have the best network available "today". yes, I pay a trifle bit more than my best friend who has a S4 phone on AT&T, and he pays a bit more than some of his truck driver friends who went with Sprint (and have coverage issues) or T-Mobile (more of the same)....

He can't change carriers, nor can I, because of expensive costs to do so, and when you really get down to it, those cheaper carriers are not really so cheap after a year or two's billings are compared.

He being a truck driver, just wants the phone to work when he needs it, it is not a play toy. Me, I install every tech app I can to see what it does, and then throw it out with the dishwater if it's not worthwhile.

But, back to improving tech, it is coming regardless of what the bloggers write.
