Verizon's New Data Plans are Expensive!

I spoke to a Verizon rep recently who told me they have stopped all of their old data plans and now only offer a "Go Unlimited" and "Beyond Unlimited" plan, and these cost $165 and $197 respectively! This makes Verizon's data plans totally non-competitive with every other cell phone vendor. Does anyone have an insight on why Verizon is doing that?

They still offer smaller buckets with limited data, they just don't want to sell them because, well, Verizon.

Yep, the Darling Bride and I share a 16GB XL plan that has rollover data. We have NEVER used up all that data: and it's a shame we can't share our bucket with other people who run low.
