Vertical line on screen

I just noticed a vertical line, greenish, about 5 mm from the right edge of the screen. Never seen it before. I havs not dropped my phone or anything recently. Phone is a few weeks shy of a year old and I bought it at Best Buy

Similar problems have been reported before on here quite a few times with various phones and tablets. Where there's one line or more visible on the screen, always there and won't move, and is usually a faulty or damaged screen, replacement required. I've seen this for myself couple of different devices as well. If you bought it at Best Buy, that's probably the first place to go I think, if not then contact Moto about it. Should be a year warranty on a Motorola phone that was originally bought new. If it's a Droid, presumably you have a contract and service with Verizon, maybe they can do something.

Suggest you post a picture of it so we can see and know for sure. You'll have to use another camera as screen-shots won't show it.

It happened to me ... out of the box ... ordered directly from Motorola ... I will not go that route again.

If you got it through Verizon ... visit them immediately.

Meant to write that since I bought it from Best buy on April 16, 2016, would Verizon even help me? I think I have to go back to Motorola.

The warranty is through Motorola, I believe. I'd call them.

I agree.

As indicated I had a real problem getting Motorola to address it with a phone contact. It was 18 months ago. They were just getting started with the new company.

If it is unsuccessful then try the Motorola Users Group forum ...

... 18 months ago it is where I got help. Motorola monitors it.

I am very interested to hear how you make out.

It took a few phone calls, but they are now shipping me a new Droid Turbo 2 free of charge, with a 90 day warranty.

I called one time and they said they'd E-mail me but didn't. What I didn't like is had my purchase date a few weeks earlier, out of warranty. So I called again and this time he (call center representative in the Phillipenes) did E-mail me while I was on the phone. I then sent him the picture, but he didn't get it and finally wanted me to go. I also replied with my Best Buy receipt. Then I called again today and she saw my receipt but didn't see my phone picture I had sent. Maybe eventually she did as she said she'd transfer me over to the Replacement group. However, I got disconnected in the transfer. I called back again later. This person questioned why I sent the receipt as if I was sending it because I was guilty. She then transferred me to the Replacement group. He agreed to replace it; requires a $250 deposit if they send you the phone first, which is fine. Then he also claimed I was out of warranty because of an earlier purchase date and I again told him I had sent a receipt. He couldn't find it. Finally he found it. He said I E-mailed it incorrectly because I had just forwarded the Best Buy E-mail receipt rather than attached it as a PDF. But once he saw the date he said since I was so close to warranty end, I only got 90 days warranty, not 1 year.

I hope they sent me a new one, not a refurbished one. Let's see. Should get here in 4 days.

Thanks for the update. Let us know how it resolves.

You had better success then I did 18 months ago.

Just curious ... how long were you on the phone?

Holy crap, that is horrible. At least it was settled in the end.

Right, it's your fault.

I have said in the past that I will not buy another Motorola phone until Lenovo gets their customer and technical support right. They still do not have it right.

Good luck with your replacement.

I thought I posted a response but can't find it. I was on the phone for 17 minutes, 40 minutes (where I kept him on line until he got my E-mail), and 22 minutes, plus a few times when I called from work but don't have the call times.

I got replacement phone. Just a phone, no accesories, in a moto-cares box. Looks good, so I have no way of telling if it is refurbished or not. It says to use a tool to remove the nano SIM card and move it. I don't remember ever having this tool. Does our phones have a SIM card?

It's in the external SD card slot. The toll is the pin the you insert in the hole.

When you remove the SIM and SD card make sure you observe how they are placed in the carrier.

It came with your phone. it has a black plastic handle.

You can use a simple straight pin or paper clip. All you do is slowly insert it and apply a little pressure. The drawer will pop open slightly. Then pull the drawer out.

I went back to the original packaging but didn't see such a tool amongst all the hidden compartments. Was going to show a picture but I was able to use a paperclip and it came right out. Will put in with the new one later.

Too bad they only sent a phone. Would have loved to get another one of these super chargers

Good.

Make sure you orient the SIM and SD card in the same position before installing the drawer. I always found it counter-intuitive.

I put it in same way I pulled it out. Seemed to work. Reinstalled all my apps, made home screen the same. Just need to figure out some things with transferring Rocket Player playlists and I'll be set. Then delete access to accounts from Google, Dropbox, and Evernote, and ready for factory reset and ship back.

So with my new phone, is there a screen protector that folks would recommend given that a year ago, I had that thread on slight crack in glass? The phone I just sent back did have a fair amount of slight scratches on it, though I understand it may be the extra glass.
I've used Skinomi in the past.
