Very annoying not getting replies glitch

I use my school account Gmail to email my friends and they use school accounts, but most of the time when I send them emails they say they replied but I usually don't get them
 
Assuming you're all using GSuite for Education/Google Classroom, are you having a problem receiving reply messages using an app (if so, which one) on your phone or tablet, or logging directly into your account through a web browser?
 
It's the app on my device and my friend said she sent me the emails but I never get them while she gets mine

OK so this is odd, harder to figure out what's going on when the problem isn't consistent but just sporadic. Since you're receiving some but not all replies, it's hard to tell if this is something related to the app or some random option in your Gsuite/Gmail settings.

Which app are you using? The Gmail app? A third-party email client app? Try going into your Settings >> Apps and doing a 'Clear cache' for that app.

If you log into your account via a browser, try going into your account's Settings menu and see if there are any filters that have been applied. Also, assuming you've already checked your Trash and Spam folders, to save repetition from any of our suggestions it might help if you listed what you have already tried. Considering these are school accounts involved, have you reached out to whomever is in charge of maintaining your school's IT?

I'm trying to get my friend to make a new Google account so I can use my non-school account with her's and I would hope that would work 😐

I have to wonder if that's part of the problem then, if you're no longer a student there and the schools admins didn't expressly state that they would continue to maintain accounts for students who have moved on in perpetuity it's kind of surprising you were continuing to receive even some email messages.
 
Well I can still use my account for everything and it doesn't seem to not be working except for obviously with this situation
 
And it's hard to know if she's just not able to talk right now or if the replies are glitching again because I told her that she should make a new Google account and tell me the email for it on this document but she hasn't so she might just not be available but I would hope that if she does make a new account, it would work
 
She hasn't replied in two weeks, and it seems like I can only see her replies on Fridays, weekends and Mondays... But I have no idea what's happening right now unfortunately
 
We have this Google document that we made last year so we could talk with each other easier when we wouldn't get to see each other again, and I emailed her asking her to make a new email and put it on the document but she isn't doing that, so I don't know where she is...
