Vibrate only when in pocket - Llama?

My phone vibrates when in silent mode which is great when my phone is in my pocket. I feel the vibrations and they're not that loud. If my phone is on my desk or another hard surface however, it's very loud - more intrusive even than the usual single beep I use for many notifications. Would it be possible to use the proximity or light sensor (or camera if there isn't a light sensor) to decide whether the phone should vibrate or not?

On my phone I can set it to vibrate only using the volume key. When my volume is 1 I press the volume down one time and it turns to vibrate mode and then another volume down before the volume turn to zero without vibrate. I don't know if its like that to every phone but you can try.

You can control it with Tasker.

If you are on Android 5.0 or newer then silent only allows you to go to vibrate unless you go into Settings | Sound & notification and set the app in Notification access.
