Vibration Rattle

Mekdroid

Lurker
Hello,

I've had my HTC 10 for about two weeks. I've noticed there is a rattle coming from somewhere inside when the phone vibrates. It happens 7 times out of 10. I've read it could be the camera stabilization but I'm not sure.

Just curious if anyone is having the same issue and if you know what it might be?

Does it effect the operation of the phone? There have been models of phones in the past that had a rattle or odd buzz when vibrating but didn't effect the operation at all. If it does cause problems or it just bothers you, I'm sure after only two weeks HTC would replace it. However, if it is something inherent in the design of the 10, the replacement would probably do it, too.

its does not effect the operation at all. It's just a little annoying. The phone is perfect otherwise. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this......

Hopefully other HTC 10 owners will chime it. My original Nexus One (yeah, that long ago ;)) did it and I never gave it a second thought.

My HTC 10 is flawless (knock on wood).
Getting HTC to replace your phone is a crapshoot at best, especially if it's 100% functional otherwise.
Getting then to actually disassemble your phone to take a look-see,even higher odds, considering the sealed construction of the device.

I'm not sure I would describe it as a rattle, but the vibration on my HTC 10 does sound rather hard and metallic compared to other phones I have had. As the phone is otherwise perfect, I am not going to worry about it.

I took my phone into my carrier last night. They said it sounded defective. I also tested two demos and they were "normal". Luckily, I was on my 15th day so my carrier replaced the phone with a new one!! This one seems fine!! Just to be clear, the vibration sound was very apparent almost like there was something loose in the phone. If you were to put a coin on top of your phone and make it vibrate it would be close to what I was experiencing.. I don't think it was the Camera stabilizer either. I wish I video taped it....but this is just something for you all to watch out for...

Glad they were able to swap it for you. It could have been nothing, but if it bugged you it could easily ruin an otherwise exceptional experience with the phone.

Exceptional? Maybe, but I think HTC has more to give. The physical bass boost works with some shell enhancements, but they need to get that 2nd stereo speaker back on the front.

Mine does this very randomly. Most times it's perfect, then can do this every now and again.

Used HTC test on vibration and it was perfect.

Seems to have started after update. Could it be a software it voltage issue to vibration unit?
