Vibration status synced between smartphone and watch?

Does the sound/vibration status sync automatically between phone and watch? Eg if I set the phone to vibrate only (or to silent), will the watch automatically be set to vibrate only (or to silent)? Does this apply to any combination of Android phone and Android Wear watch?

I'm pretty sure they are independent settings... as different users will want different combinations of ring and vibrate under different circumstances

Is there any way to sync the two? Some setting in AndroidWear, or maybe a specific app?
