Video calling

Video calling is x'd out on contact. I have the video calling option on in my phone app settings but it won't let me use it to call an S6 that is using the option. Any ideas?

Duo is its own app, you start it up, use its dialer to initiate a video call, and as long as your recipient has Duo on their phone the two will connect, using the front-facing cameras.

That's not really what I'm wanting. I had the S6 and it was capable, now this phone/dialing app looks identical with the same feature, yet it won't work. There's a toggle to turn it on /off and I've got it on. Got to be a solution besides using a separate app just for video calling.

Think I know what you mean, and I believe it's only offered by some carriers in certain countries, and on certain phones. Frankly I've only ever seen video call options on a Nokia Symbian phone, and that was on the 3 network in the UK, circa 2003-5, and it was very expensive to use, 50 pence a minute IIRC. I've never seen it since, not in China anyway. Any video calling I do now are usually via Wechat, which is VOIP.

Who's your carrier, what country are you in, and what exact versions of the S6 and S8 Plus have you been using? Was your S6 and S8 plus supplied and customized by your carrier?

This is in my phone app settings. And the other is a screen shot of recent calls. This is where I usually hit video call. It's blacked out. All my phones come directly from att.
