Is anyone here good with Video Editing Software? I was hoping to see if I could get some help. I like to record gameplay of xbox 360/ps3 gameplay and make videos for fun. However I can never get my videos to render in a decent quality. Im capturing using a Hauppauge HD PVR and using Sony Vegas 9 to be exact. Any quality help would be much appreciated.

the best render i know is wmv-1080p. Also go to the properties and choose highest quality. sorry i cant go into more detail im not on my pc right now.

How powerful is your PC and what are the specs?

Put it this way you're not going to do decent HD video on a Celeron based system.

Sony Vegas is a pretty powerful editor as is Final Cut. I use both of them and if you arent getting good results with Vegas, something is messed up with the settings you are rendering them at or what you are using to capture the video.

I do excatly what you do, record. In the Happauge recording software make sure your bit rate or something like that is maxed, 13.5MBps I believe, also set your Xbox to 720p not 1080p or 1080i, Happauge records best in 720p. Then in Vegas make your render settings 1280x720 and frame rate to 59.94. When you create a new project make sure render quality is best. (drop down box somewhere when you make a new project). I'm not close to my computer so I can't see the exact settings at the time, but send me a message when you get a chance, ill help you out.

Hope I helped.
