Help Video Editor Won't Download

I was trying to edit a downloaded video in the Video app, but it said "Video Editor is not installed on your device. Video Editor will be downloaded and installed" with the options to cancel or download. I pressed download and nothing happened. Is there a fix for this?

Did you download the app from the Play Store? Is your Play Store updated, as well for the Play Services? If not, update both.
I don't remember getting those errors on Play Store and mine is fully updated.
Could you try to describe your problem better? Maybe your device info, root...?

I have an unrooted Galaxy Tab S 10.5". I'm not sure how to update the Play Store or Sevices, I've tried to download the Samsung Video Editor but it says my device is not compatible with it.

Galaxy Tab S originally came out in 2014 with 4.4 Kitkat. Is that what it's still running, check for firmware updates if it is. Do you know if the Samsung video editor is actually supposed to be compatible with this particular Samsung tablet? There's the possibility that Samsung only designed and built it for some of their phones, and NOT their tablets.

As far as I can tell, my tablet is running Android 6.0.1, which I guess is Marshmallow (I updated recently). Your explanation makes the most sense to me: my tablet was never supposed to be compatible with Video Editor, but for some reason the option to download it still appeared. If that's true, it's dissappinting to have a false option dangled in front of me like that, but I guess I'll just have to get over it. Thank you for your help.

Did you mess up with the build.prop? Did you make any system level changes to your device except for rooting?

I don't think I've done anything to the build.prop (I didn't even know what it was until I Googled it) and the only thing I can think of that might have effected anything is that I did the "thumbnail .nomedia trick" (that's where, when video thumbnails are taking up too much room in your system, you create a file called ".nomedia" in the thumbnail folder and delete everything else and the thumbnails won't be recreated). Maybe that's connected, like you can't edit videos that don't have thumbnails or something? But the problem was that I couldn't even download the Video Editor in the first place, so I don't know.

Okay then, could you please take a few screenshots of whatever errors you get?
It would be much easier to know exactly what's going on with your device, since I never got this error before...
By the way, the .nomedia file has nothing to do with this problem, I think.
