video playback from phone to tv

Say for example I play an mp3 then connect the phone to the stereo it plays the music through the car speakers. Is there a way to do this with a video where I select it on the phone connect it and it plays back on the tv? I know some phones have tv out settings, but I mean for one that doesnt have tv out settings
 
Sorry I change phones like underwear. I currently have a G2 and a MT3G slide...The reason I ask is the vibrant I used for a couple weeks was capable of this,but I do not remember seeing an hdmi port.
 
Well if you don't have an hdmi out port, its not going to happen. I do know the Incredible could do SD video out of the usb port with an adapter. But that's the only other phone i've heard of that can do it without an hdmi port.
 
Why not play videos wireless?
I can play videos on my Samsung TV that are streamed from my HTC Desire. Both devices are connected to my Router. An app like iMeidashare connects them together.
 
Wirelessly works too. I will look into that. BTW wired SD video would be fine. THe reason I ask is because the vibrant has a tv out setting you turn on then the cord connects to the tv via the headphone jack
