Video Playback Problem - HTC One

Hi all,

My HTC ONE has stopped being able to playback any online videos.

When trying to play a video on youtube (in the native app) or an embedded facebook video on my live feed, the video starts for a split second and then the whole thing stutters and stops.

I've no idea what could be causing this, could anyone shine any light?
I've tried resetting the apps, defaults, clearing caches etc - I really want to avoid having to do a factory reset but this is driving me crazy.


Any help would be much appreciated!

You could try booting the device into Safe Mode to see if it's an application that's causing the issue. Press-and-hold the Power button to pull up the Power Menu, and long-press the Power Off option. You should be prompted to reboot into Safe Mode.

Safe Mode prevents user apps (that is, not those included with Android) from running at start-up. If the videos are able to play in Safe Mode, then you'll know it's an application that you've installed that is causing the problems. If not, it could be a network issue (do you get the same results on multiple Wifi APs and mobile data) or a deeper problem that might require that dreaded Factory Reset.
