Could anyone tell me why any video (MP4) that i transfer from my pc to my Sony Ericsson xperia x10 only plays back in a very small screen, do i have to convert them first for them to play fullscreen ?

Well you have not mention some of the things. You have not mention which media player you are currently. I think you don't convert them into full screen. It is just your resolution problem. Set your phone resolution proper and try it again.

Here are the properties of one of the videos

VIDEO:
FRAME WIDTH: 320
FRAME HEIGHT: 262
DATA RATE: 193kbps
TOTAL BITRATE: 321kbps
FRAME RATE: 30 frames/second

AUDIO:
BIT RATE: 128kbps
CHANNELS: 2(stereo)
AUDIO SAMPLE RATE: 22kHz

I think they were conveted with "Any Video Converter"

thats your problem. the resolution of the videos is way smaller than the resolution of the phone. if you are converting these videos yourself, convert them to a larger size, specifically the size of your phone's resolution. if these are the only videos you have, upsizing them will not give you better quality, and will be larger file size, but will fit the phones screen.

on second thought, i'm not familiar with that device, but isn't there a zoom or full screen option on the phone's video player?

Many thanks for everybodys help, the next time i transfer any videos to my phone i will convert them with a bigger resolution.

Cheers.:)
