Apps Viewing XML by default

Hi,

I'm new to Android and I haven't used Eclipse in the longest time. When opening a layout, say main.xml, can I change the settings so it defaults to the XML file and not the Layout view?

Depends on which version of Eclipse you are using. For Eclipse Galileo, you can change the file associations at:
Windows -> Preferences -> General -> Editors -> File Associations

Other versions may be at:
Window -> Preferences -> Workbench -> File Associations
