Help VIP Ringer Does not Override Sleep Smart Action

With Sleep Smart Action activated (which of course silences all ringers and notifications), the additional Action "Ring Loud for Important People" does not ring at all. It seems that it only works if the volume setting is at least minimally "on" and then will ring louder for VIP's. But in silent mode, the Action does nothing to get VIP's through. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Have cleared cache, erased all rules, started over, but with same result.

Is there any way to get VIP's past the sleep SA?

If you're using the "canned" version of the smartapp it did not work for me either.
I created my own smartaction , called it sleepmode, and essentially recreated the same actions manually.
I had my wife call me when sleep mode was active, before and after adding her to the list to ring thru, and it worked as I wanted. Try that (hope it works for you)

I previously tried to create a custom SA, but it didn't work. I'll try again. What triggers and actions did you use?

edit: got a custom SA to work where VIP's rig through. Only actions are volume off and VIP ring.

edit: did not work last night. Will try uninstalling update and clearing data, starting over.

final edit: bailed on this Smart Action. Just not ready for prime time. Installed an app called Criticall, which can white list calls and texts. Hopefully it works well.
