Help Vip??

If you mark someone as a VIP, their call will override silent/vibrate settings and a ringtone will be played for them.
 
My Mytouch 4G is allowing me to have my mom's calls thru on the VIP list and it will ring regardless of vibrate or silent but when i tried to add my boyfriend to the VIP it will light up but it will not ring? Anybody else having problems like this or have any ideas??

I would very much appreciate any suggestions or replys.
