Virgin Mobile 2.5GB data

So does anyone who has Virgin Mobile actually go over the 2.5 of data? there's currently a deal on a Virgin Mobile S3 for 249.99, and with their 45 dollar a month plan... that's a pretty sweet deal. But not sure if it's worth the risk?

I never even come close to using that amount of data. Then again, I don't watch movies on my phone.

I used to regularly hit 5 - 6 GB/month, without using WiFi anywhere, but that was before they implemented throttling across the board. Now I make sure to use WiFi when I'm at home, and end up under 2 GB.

My teenage daughter ends up right at the throttle point most months, but she uses Netflix during her hour-long bus ride. She watches her usage and rations herself so that she makes it the whole month. It's easy enough to do and she doesn't find it problematic.

If you use your phone as your main internet connection, you may have issues with the limits and will want to check out other options. Otherwise, they're reasonable for the monthly fee.

Most places have wifi. My phone is constantly connected to wifi. Only time its not is in the car and then i use only 1 -1.5 gbs but thats all on pandora

I honestly don't really watch movies at all. I only watch youtube and browse the internet. I only really occasionally download and use apps.

Half of the time I use my phone for those things I'm also at home on WiFi. I always try to connect to WiFi in places, too.

I might have to go with Virgin. the 45 dollar plan is a great deal.

Since I don't have WiFi at home and I watch A LOT of YouTube. So I go over it. And these are the speeds I'm getting after being throttled.

How do you manage to watch videos or do anything with those speeds? I've only ever been throttled once and found the speeds unbearable.

I haven't been watching any YouTube because of these speeds. took a hour to watch a 13 min vid on YouTube. I'm mainly just using this phone for texts, calling, FB, and some music.

But starting next month I'll 3have my Moto G LTE and I'll be on T-Mobile. So goodbye crap speeds hello never being throttled again.

Luckily I have Wifi at my house, and every time I go into somewhere that has free Wifi I connect to it. Chances are I probably don't have to worry about going over.

Thinkin I'm probably gonna get the S3. My second choice would be the LG Volt. I've just heard bad things about the S3 and charging issues and such. But I have the Galaxy Express right now, which is pretty much identical to the S3 and have no issues what so ever.

Are you going to be going with the 80 dollar unlimited plan?

How about your speeds before you get throttled? I'm assuming you get no 4G since you have a Wiimax phone?
