Root [Virgin Mobile] Camera fix

When I first installed a custom ROM on my phone, my camera would not connect. After doing some research, it appears that my phone had a new camera firmware which wasn't yet supported in the custom ROMs. In order to fix it I copied the SlimISP_PH.bin from /data on the stock ROM to /data on the custom ROM. My camera now works with the exception that it reboots when attempting to capture from the front-facing camera. Snapchat, however, works with capturing from the front-facing camera.

Disclaimer: I did not discover this; I found it on XDA.

Thank you! I had reverted back to stock rom via a backup and this actually works perfectly.

Just a heads up, you might need to mess with permissions abit for it to work. You need to have 775 or Read/Write/Execute for Owner and Group, and just Read and Execute for Others.

I'm fairly new to this, recently got the vm sg3. I've rooted and I liked cm11, but I couldn't get the camera to work, so i went back to stock.

Is there a way to get everything working including the camera, messaging (including pictures) etc...on this phone with virgin mobile? or is there a stable build of cm 11 or something similar that has all the features working?

thanks in advance for any assistance, I'm attempting the above solution.

Are you using the latest nightly of CM11 for the d2lte? Because the problem might be that you're using a version of CM11 that is for a different variant of the phone (d2lte is for both VM and Boost) Link for CM11 d2lte. Also make sure you're on mk5 and not on any older modem.
I'm currently using the PACMAN rom but I've used CM11 before and I never had that problem, so my guess is that the problem its either the variant of the rom that you're using or your current modem
Let me know if this helps or if you still need help!
