Root [Virgin Mobile] CM11 Snapchot M8 battery drain

Hello I've recently installled CM11 M8 and I have been experiencing some battery issues. When I was in stock my battery would last all day without some moderate use, but now with CM11 M8 in 10 minutes about 10% of my battery is gone with almost no usage. Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S III with Virgin Mobile

Any help is appreciated! :)

You might want to try Juice Defender or Greenify. With those you can control when data and WiFi runs. They'll also help with background processes and control when apps can connect to data or WiFi. Both Juice Defender and Greenify get great reviews. There are also a bunch of other apps that help with battery drain. Might be worth checking out.

Also, you don't want to use auto-brightness. It's actually more of a battery drain than anything. You're better off setting your brightness below halfway. And maybe change GPS to battery saver or off if you don't use it a lot. Just a few suggestions.

also battery doctor is a good app to get

I've heard good things about that one too. But you only want to choose one of these apps. Having multiple ones could drain your battery also.

Unfortunately, it seems that running AOSP ROMs does create somewhat of a battery drain. Others have complained about it too. I kind of think it's because d2lte ROMs are not specifically made for Virgin Mobile. We're just able to figure out how to make them work, if that makes sense.

Personally, I actually break every rule when it comes to battery saving. I usually have 2 extra batteries with me at all times because you can remove the back of the phone and just pop a new battery in. Extra batteries are really cheap on Amazon. You can buy 2 Anker 2200 mAh lithium batteries on Amazon for under $30. They also come with a wall charger to charge the batteries. Anker is very highly rated. I use them and have had no problems. Might be worth checking out so you won't have to be tethered to the wall when your battery is low.

I've had terrible battery life on any 4.4 rom. Is Android System by chance using way more juice than it used to for you?

Actually guys I found a very simple solution for this. I read on some website that every time you flash another rom you have to recalibrate your battery so that the stats of your battery are not carried on to the new rom. Now with that being said, I downloaded an application called "Battery Calibration" and followed the simple instructions and then I suddenly began to get great battery life. But thanks guys! And Dennygreen you might want to try this out.

It just wipes the battery stats file which is wiped every time you reboot anyway. To each their own but I never noticed any difference when I played with that app.
