Virgin Mobile Essentials ID Icon Missing

Just got a replacement phone from Virgin Mobile, and after getting it all set up, the Essentials ID downloaded and installed itself. It used to be that you could go to the Mobile ID icon and switch easily between IDs - but I don't have that icon. Is there some other place the controls for this annoying little feature might be hiding, or am I going to be spending my morning re-setting everything the way I had it?

I think they have done something to get rid of it. There was a huge problem with the Desire 601 when it was released which would get stuck in a loop of trying to download it, they finally did something to the app to finally download. Once it finally downloaded I've never seen it again, it is still listed in the app section under "settings" which seems to be the same as the situation you have. Virgin customer service said "oh, that wasn't even supposed to be on there anymore when they went out but it somehow got loaded on all of them" which kind of implied that Virgin wasn't going to be using that app any longer. it also would occasionally go rogue on my older Kyocera Rise and it would start downloading and set everything on the phone back to how it was on day one. Then you'd have to spend the morning (as you say) putting everything back where you wanted it.

You might want to give them a call or contact "the virgin angels" through their facebook or twitter pages or email saveme@thevirginangels.com (I think that's the right address). and see if there's a way to reactivate the app?

As long as it doesn't download to my phone again (it came through twice; once when I first activated the phone and once a day later when I powered it down and restarted it) I shouldn't need access to the controls. It doesn't make any sense, though, to leave the Essentials ID active, but take away any ability for the user to change it. Nice one, VM/ Sprint!
