I've been having a data issue with pretty much every recent build of ROMs I try. I can get data working on the 9/5 Dirty Unicorns build, but not any build after that. I can get data working on the 9/16 CM11 Snapshot M10 build but not on any nightly after that. I've tried the latest builds of Gummy, Nameless, Spirit, and Broken ROMs as well. No data. Actually, if I change the data setting to 3G, I get 3G service. But I'll probably forever be stuck on 3G. When I change the data setting back to LTE, I get nothing. Not even 3G.
I've tried flashing both of the APN fixes I have in the list. Nothing. I still have the MD7 modem. So, I downloaded and flashed a rooted stock Virgin Mobile MD7 ROM so I can update the PRL. But instead, when the phone boots, it goes right to a page that wants me to enter a password to access encrypted data. Doesn't help if there is no password in the first place. Since I flash the MD4 modem to use d2lte builds, I decided to download and flash the rooted stock Sprint MD4 ROM. Same damn encryption page.
I'm at somewhat of a stalemate. I'd update my recovery but there isn't a newer Philz update. And for some reason, my phone won't accept a CWM install through Odin. That's why I use Philz. I'd flash an unrooted Virgin Mobile MD7 ROM but since I had the problem with the rooted version, I don't want to be stuck at the encryption password page and be unrooted. I'd update my bootloader and modem to NDC, but I've seen that some have worse signal from doing that. And I don't want Knox. I'm not ready to be married. After Sprint got bought out by Softbank, my signal has gotten worse at home. I used to have LTE but now stuck with 3G and barely a bar. It sucks too because if I go 3 blocks in any direction, I get LTE service. I don't want to update my bootloader and modem if my signal gets worse.
I'm asking for any suggestions. Anybody know of a way to bypass the encryption password page so I can try updating the PRL to see if that'll get my data running? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
