Root [Virgin Mobile] How do you turn off wifi notifications?

I have tried to find a way to turn off the Touchwiz available wifi notifications, but the only solutions I could find are for the Verizon model. The standard wifi notification option in wifi settings does not affect the pop up notifications, which I assume is due to Touchwiz and not the standard Android notifications.

Has anybody else struggled with this?

While in the WiFi available network screen... Touch the hard menu button.. Select advanced... Unchecked the "notify of available networks"
