Virgin mobile HTC Desire 626 root help?

Has links and guides etc for 626. If you are unsure abouyt anything, check before making a mistake, you can easily end up bricked.

So I was able to unlock the boot loader but can't seem to get the custom recovery going. I flashed 3 recoveries. First flash being twrp, it flashed with no errors, but once I try to boot into recovery mode it reboots.
Second flash being cyanrecovery, it flashed no errors, but once I boot into recovery it flickers then goes to a black screen.
Third flash being the stock recovery, worked like a charm. No issues at all. Is it my phone or the recoveries? Can someone give me some advice, or some help please
