Root [Virgin Mobile] Losing connection/signal and need help. I'm going crazy!

so for the past 2 days I've been having really crappy service at my house. from 1 bar to no bars to the circle with the line going through it. it makes texting/calling impossible.

prior to this though, there was no issue at all. VM says there are no outages, they tried reactivating my phone, etc. still nothing. even texting when i occasionally get 3 bars elsewhere says the message cant be sent because of no service.

my phone is just rooted with the latest midnight ROM and this issue came out of the blue. my question... does anyone know a solution? will flashing a new radio help? going back to stock? changing my prl? im at a loss and VM has no idea what to do. ughhh

Hmmm, if you haven't flashed any Sprint ROMs then just go into CWM, wipe data, cache, dalvik, and system... and then flash the stock ROM that's in the stickies. Once you do that restart into system, set up the phone etc. manually update your profile, and let the phone do it's system updates... Do not do the rooting procedure until after you get the system update. This isn't necessarily a fix, but we need to dismiss some variables to better help you.

You haven't flashed anything else besides midnight ROM and root?

This same exact thing happened to me 2 days ago. I called Virgin, they were pretty clueless so I called Sprint and at first they showed no outages but the lady was nice enough top elevate me to the 2nd set of customer service. Turns out, the 3 towers that cover my area were all going in and back out which explains a lot. Might give Sprint a call and see what they might know.

nope, all I did was midnight rom and rooted it. I reflashed as well and tried slimrom too, but that didn't change anything. thankfully the problem has fixed itself for now...but I will definitely use your process if it ever acts up again, but I'm thinking it might've just been an annoying tower issue.

the problem just fixed itself not too long ago but I've been out of the house since the second it fixed so hopefully it stays that way. looks like it was tower related but it didn't help my sanity when virgin says there were no outages lol. sprint seems like a better place to call regarding this issue if it ever happens again though, so thanks a lot.

Yeah, mine fixed itself as well but I know the feeling! Glad it worked out all right for ya.

I am a new S3 owner. I have had an issue free phone for about a month. Recently, I am having huge issues with service at my house. I see preparing network frequently, and the circle with the the line through it. The phone does reboot itself when this is happening. I checked with Sprint who said that there was a tower out at the beginning of the week. But now service is restored and that it must be the phone and should send it back. I also see the message the process.com.android.phone when this is occuring. Sometimes I have spotty service. But it doesn't last for long. I can use wireless home wifi to use the internet.

Sprint had me take the battery out and then update settings. That didn't help.

I really hate having a Monday - Friday work phone...

I see similar issues listed in this forum. But nothing exactly the same.

Any help you can give is appreciated.
