Root [Virgin Mobile] No root access on 10.1 after Root_from_recovery

Newbie
I flashed the CM 10.1 ROM following the tutorial here, followed with flashing the root from recovery zip in the tutorial. That flash was successful and superuser is installed, but I cannot get root access to anything. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. I asked about this in the Tutorial for 10.1 forum but got ignored. I don't think the guy who replied to you gets it. I lost root access too even with having Superuser. It would be nice to figure out how to regain root access.

I'm at work but tonight ill post what I used. I used SuperSu installer and it worked fine. But for mine I used it to switch to SuperSu and not to root it.

Edit
Do a google sesrch for SuperSu

You should find a thread by Chainfire for SuperSu 1.5.1

It says you need root but it shouldn't hurt to try. What it looks like it needs is busybox. Quick glance at the install script shows it installs by name and not partition number. IE: copy xxxxx to /system.

Did you try to install the Root From Recovery zip file as listed in the tutorial? If so, that's exactly the problem. Don't do it. Just skip that step because the ROM is already rooted and using that zip file unroots it, oddly enough. Try the tutorial again, just leave that part out.

No friggen way, man. It worked. Had to flash SuperSU so I had a superuser app, but I'm rooted. It's strange how the root from recovery zip unroots the rom. Never would've suspected that was the problem. Thanks for the help.
