I'm live in Hawaii and both of our Virgin Mobile phones are unable to get a signal. It has been about 3 hours or so.
Anyway to find out if there is a outage or maintenance or???

I lost service on Boost & Sprint for over 5 hours in early August, but in a different location. I called the next day and they admitted people had been complaining of dropped calls but the CSR was surprised when I told them I lost all data too. That was when I realized I had to switch a line to another carrier but I haven't done that yet.

I would recommend calling customer service. In some cases, they might know if there are upgrades or service occurring in your area, though more often they likely will have no clue. The real advantage is that you have let Virgin Mobile/Sprint know, particularly if it is a real outage and not maintenance.

Better yet, if you have a Sprint store close by, you might try calling them to see if they know of outages in the area -- they are far more likely to be aware of local issues with the network.

Hard to call when there is NO service.
Turns out there is a broken cable that is affecting phones, ATM etc. No idea when it will be fixed.
3 emails to virgin results in 3 auto responses.

It's good that you discovered the cause. It's very upsetting when the service just disappears; I don't have a landline anymore either so it's actually terrifying when I've lost service.
