Virgin Mobile phone upgrade. What to get?

So I am stuck. I am thinking about getting either an HTC Desire 601 or the ZTW Supreme (Vital). What are your opinions on these phones.

Also are they that much better than the LG Optimus F3? Help!!

Both would be an improvement over the Optimus F3, especially with their larger screens and more internal storage.

Just looking at their specs both the Desire 601 and ZTW Supreme (Vital) are pretty similar - I'd recommend testing both at a store to see which you like more.

I personally have the Supreme and I love it. Both phones are about the same though. The supreme is more of a pure android experience while HTC has their design on top of their phone. The only advantage the HTC phone has is the slightly updated is (4.2.2) vs the supreme's 4.1.2. Although the supreme got a update to fix issues a while ago... So at least they're paying attention to it.

Well that is a shame. I am still not sure what to do. I guess I should keep thinking and wait and see if Virgin drops prices on these phones after the Galaxy S5 comes out.

Prices will definitely drop once the s5 comes outs. It'll definitely be worth the wait

I have the Desire and it's awesome. The Supreme is also a good one but a bit too big for me (though big has it's advantages). The desire I can reach all the way accross with my thumb and get to all four corners. There are a couple little annoyances like hitting the volume rocker all the time, but that's pretty minor for a mid range priced device. Fast and smooth with decent battery life and plenty of storage. We'll see how the Kit Kat update goes, hasn't come through yet. Both are good choices, kind of just what you want. I'd think the S3 may come way down in price when the S5 hits?

I am sure we will see price drops. I am just not feeling the S3. The desire seems really well made and may be the direction I am leaning but I am currently on the old $25 plan and think I will wait until the end of next month before I switch plans and get a new phone.

WOW! Congrats on hanging onto the $25.00 plan! I didn't have the will power, LOL! Had to get a newer, faster phone. That $25.00 plan was the bomb!

Its funny but my optimus V is just a tank of a phone. I have dropped it so many times. It just won't break unlike these newer phones. Drop them once and they break. But its time to move on. Still wish I could pick a phone though.

The Optimus V was a tough little phone; in fact, all the LGs I've owned were able to take quite a beating. The Optimus F3 might not be a bad replacement phone, or is it too short on internal memory for you?

Since you don't have your heart set on a particular phone by now, it won't hurt to wait things out into June. The last few years, Virgin Mobile has released several new phones during May-June, so you'll either find something new that appeals to you, or maybe that a price drop has made one of the current phones a better choice.

I am thinking the same. The F3 is currently at the top of my list. I am so used to the optimus V that even that would be a huge step up.

I had an F3 (with MetroPCS for a few days... Metro could not port my number so I returned it) and the F3 is very easily rooted so the lack of internal memory is easily solved using link2sd.

If I go with the F3 rooting will happen on day one. It really is a tremendous value.

The Supreme has better specs, is slightly faster and has a superior camera. It even uses the stock Android launcher. :)

The HTC has better build quality, will be updated to 4.4.2 (kitkat), and has very good speakers.

Whatever you do, stay away from the F3. I've had a chance to use all 3 and I prefer the HTC as my everyday phone.

What's wrong with the f3? Its getting a kitkat update soon. The supreme is probably not.

The F3 is really short on internal storage.

I second this. My brother has the f3 and I own the Supreme. My brother is always complaining about storage. He rooted his phone just so he could move apps to the SD card and whatnot.

Does he wish he bought the supreme?

Yes he does. The supreme has a lot of space, but it also runs out fast too. It has a lot more though. My Supreme is rooted too for more space. But I have a ton of apps on my phone.

The HTC phone looks good too. I can't say anything about it though since I've never tried it.

Right but that's solved by rooting and using link2Sd.

I played with one for a few days. Even with rooting and link2sd I think I would have been disappointed and would have had to choose which apps I would keep.
