Root [Virgin Mobile] [Q] what does nandroid NOT backup/restore

Started with Virgin MG2 with the CWM recovery 6.0.2.8 [6.25.2013] for Virgin

I flashed a sprint based LJ7 ROM (redrum 4.0.4). (to retrieve MSL/SPC)

When I restored the Virgin MG2, the Bootup screen was black, but the audio played (no virgin animation, but the audio of it still played)

When I would power off/reset the MG2 restore, it would play a Sprint animation (like the boot animation, but during reset)

I had to do a combination of data wipe and nandroid restore to get the bootup and reset screens to normal.

I thought the nandroid restore of MG2 would have wiped out any changes I made when I flashed redrum 4.0.4.

What would cause the boot/shutdown screens to not behave correclty after nandroid restore?

Just a little concerned I have a mutated restore with some residual of the sprint flash.
