Root [Virgin Mobile] Restoring Apps + Data from 4.3 to 4.4.2

I finally made the jump from TW 4.3 to Paranoid Android 4.4.2. It is smooth and all is well at the moment.

I am getting ready to restore apps (+ data, hopefully) via Titanium Backup. I was just wondering if I do a batch restore apps + data, will there be any known issues since the data would be coming from a 4.3 OS?

Thanks in advance for everyone's time and assistance.

What you need to do is select the 'Restore missing apps with data'. That'll just restore the apps that you've downloaded and the data for each app. Doing any other batch restore functions could get you in trouble. If you select 'Restore system data', it'll restore the system settings and data from your 4.3 backup to 4.4.2. It'll muck things up. Unfortunately, I've learned from experience. I've had problems before selecting 'Restore system data' with flashing different ROMs of the same Android version. So, if you select 'Restore missing apps with data', you should be fine.

Titanium Backup is an amazing app. I've been using it for years. If you upgrade to Titanium Backup Pro, it'll make things a whole lot easier. One tip though: go to Problems?>Preferences>and scroll up to where it says 'Backup folder location'. Touch that and you can choose where you save your app backups. This way you can save it to your sdcard because Titanium Backup's default setting is to backup the apps to your internal memory. If your phone breaks and your apps are in your internal memory, you're screwed. Having it on your sdcard means you can restore the apps onto another phone. To restore your apps, you're going to have to repeat the process so Titanium Backup knows where your apps are.

Good luck with the restore.

Do as stated above and you'll be just fine. I just installed LiquidSmooth on my wife's phone a and restored her app backups from 4.3 TW and everything works perfectly.

"Nandroid Manager" allows you to restore data (apps. sms/mms messages and call logs) from your nandroid backups. It is one of the great FREE apps on the play store.

It will restore any (or all) app(s). however you do need to check the ones to restore... But it will restore the apps you forgot to backup under TB :)
