Root [Virgin Mobile] Samsung like KK ROM recommendation

My girlfriend likes the stock 4.3 Samsung ROM mainly because the UI in general is largish throughout and she doesn't have to don her glasses to read it, which she sometimes did with Cyanogenmod and other AOSP roms I tried.

I tried upping the font size in CM as well as using some apps to make things bigger, but it still doesn't have that bigger UI like the Samsung rom.

Going through the available ROMs I'm not really seeing anything that might have a similar UI, can anyone recommend something?

Conquest Singularity sounds very ideal but looking at the screen shots it looks very typical smaller AOSP/CM not larger Samsung style.

I do have her stock rom rooted and tweaked out but it would be nice to have a few of the things one gets from a 3rd party rom such as built in tethering and bumping up to KitKat.

Conquest is awesome. Along with that, use nova launcher. It allows you to resize all the app icons. Also in phone settings you can always increase the size of text.
In accessibility settings you can turn on magnification gestures.

Why not just use the Sprint ND8 stock ROM with the tethering patch and moped Ryder's universal APN fix? You'd get the standard ugly TouchWiz UI with native tethering all on a rock solid KitKat ROM.

Conquest is probably not going to be what you're looking for as I generally tend to shrink the giant TW font sizes down to a more manageable and less screen wasting size.

thanks! I'd bumped up fonts in settings, but you still have individual apps to deal with. I didn't think to try magnification gestures that might help.

Nova launcher is nice, I may use that for myself as well, and it should do the job for enlarging app icons from what I can see so far.

One remaining problem with the CM / non stock roms I've run into is that (at least for us) visual voicemail doesn't really work properly. I don't know why it does for others apparently.

For her she doesn't always get notified of voicemails/missed calls and also it tends to always indicate there's a pending voicemail argh.

thanks I think you're right that might be the best way to go, especially given that for some reason visual voicemail doesn't work properly for either of us on non stock roms. I don't use it, so doesn't matter for me.

Two questions, rather than the Sprint ND8 KK rom isn't there a VM KK Rom not requiring an apn fix etc?

Second could you please point me at the tethering patch you speak of, unless it's this?

Pretty sure that's the tether mod. And I think the reason he recommended the nd8 with APN fix is because the tether mod doesn't work on the VM (NDC) ROM.
 
Also the app "WiFi tether router" works well for tethering. And with xposed framework you can get a lot of the features that come with some custom Roms.
