Root [Virgin Mobile] VirginMobile SGS3 Re-ROM and CM install help needed

bolts

Lurker
I am new to android and this forum, so please be gentle.
I have a hand-me-down Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710)(L710VPUCNDC) that I was hoping to put Cyanogenmod on and use it to replace my Virgin Mobile HTC EVO V4G.
I've been reading through some forums (learning just enough to be dangerous), and I used Odin to flash the SGS3 with with a ROM that I thought I needed to get CM11 to work, and it turns out that now the SGS3 boots up as a SPRINT Network phone (L710VPUDND8), NOT a VIRGIN MOBILE phone.
Can this be corrected?
I tried to install Clockwork Mod, TWRP, and PHILZ, but somehow, I managed to fail on each.
So, if somebody can tell me how to get back to square one, and then direct me to instructions for everything that I need to install CM11 (or 10.2 if that's a better choice for a noob like me) and the easiest way to do it.

Thanks for your help.

here is the guide to put on philz recovery
this is the file for flashing in Odin to put it back to virgin mobile firmware. Although booting as a sprint phone is fine. Most of the Roms are based on nd8 (sprint) anyways.

Also you should post this in the root section for your phone. Are you on virgin? It seems from your post that you are. I can move this for you if you like.

Yes...I am on Virgin.
I didn't realize there was a section just for Virgin Mobile.
If you could move this for me that would be great.
Do I flash the ROM first, and then put Philz on...or doesn't it matter?
Also, you mean that I can leave it with the Sprint ROM and it won't cause any issues with Virgin when I call to get my phone service switched over to this phone (once I get Cyanogenmod on it)?

Thank you for your help!

No the sprint stuff doesn't matter. But if you want, just Odin flash the stock virgin mobile firmware and start fresh. Do all the root and ROM stuff after you activate it.
