Virus help

So i am running android 7 off of a Motorola phone and after downloading some files off a web browser my phone started acting funny,
My phone started lagging minutely and apps started opening up on their own when they updated.

I've already tried uninstalling all my Playstore updates but that didn't fix it.
To make matters worse i installed three different virus checkers and non of them said anything was amiss. By default i use lookout premium but i also tried webroot premium and avg antivirus free.

I have also taken the time to look through all my apps, system ones included to find a rouge element but i couldn't find anything out of the ordinary except three apps which upon being disabled changed nothing.

I read on some places sometimes it's good to go into safemode and remove the 'suspected files' but 1: I don't know what the suspected files were and two I couldn't even run my antivirus (presumably because of safe mode but still). And yes i have already removed the original files i downloaded.

I have read else where that it could be a monitoring program but i have no such thing installed.

If anyone could tell me where to look for such possible malware in file form or what i am looking for it would be appreciated.

What are the files you downloaded and the browser you used, so others can be warned and stay away...

The browser i use by default was chrome and the files i downloaded were from a sketch website called romsmania.com, with a big green download button, it was more my fault that i didn't think twice about it. Specifically advanced wars 2 but presumably this 'package' is in all the downloads on that site.

Hey,
This problem cannot be solved by installing any antivirus.
You have to reset your phone once.
I think this will help you.

As much as id love to try that i have already done it once a while ago and i never enjoy doing as it means i lose all my local saves on my games (as i don't know which ones are infected by any chance if they are then backing them up might migrate the virus)
Though i suppose it's something more serious than video games...
I'm going to factory reset it and see if that helps i suppose
