Help Virus Scanning

Ok so I'm about to get the LG Doubleplay and wanted to know how I can scan for virus's and misc. other malware that could report to someone else any and all activity performed on the device and how to protect said phone in the future.

Also on a side note what's the highest version of Android this phone can handle? I saw several sites wondering why it didn't get the ICS update so can it handle the frozen goodie or not?

Haha I totally forgot that I had posted this. It still doesn't have any replies but of anyone knows whether or not it can handle ICS it would be awesome to get a reply.
