So recently I was just looking through my apps and I noticed these little green dots behind google opinions at the bottom. I held down on opinions and then it was revealed that the head of the android robot was behind it. I tried removing it but it said app not found. Luckily I had the avg antivirus app and somehow removed it when I cleaned out the files. Does anyone know what it was?

That is the default icon for an app that has no icon itself. It is also what you would see if an app is removed but the launcher somehow doesn't realise, or if an app isn't loaded properly or damaged so that it can't load (e.g. an app is moved to sd and then the sd card changed, or the move fails, or the card is just too slow loading, or...).
It's unlikely to be a "virus" (in quotes because Android malware aren't true viruses anyway), but there are too many possibilities to easily guess what it might have been.
