Apps Visual android development?

Hey there,
I am wanting to start making some simple apps for my HTC Hero, mostly things that will help out with uni and eventually maybe some things for my media centre.
I was wondering if there is a visual based development program?
I have made a few simple programs in Visual basic and Visual C before and was hoping there might be something similar for android.
I know about appinventor but i am yet to recieve my invitation
All help greatly appreciated. I have searched the google machine but have not turned up anything decent yet.

Hi, for easy UI development (that still needs you to program manually the actual functions with Eclipse) see DroidDraw : Graphical User Interface Editor for Android Cell Phone Development and Programming.

For 100% visual development, see http://appinventor.googlelabs.com. For this you have to put yourself onto a waiting list and wait until Google decides to send you an invite, unfortunately.

Btw if someone sells accounts with appinventor access enabled I'm interested
