VLC Direct - Playback Local Content

I can't seem to find a VLC PLayer for Android, closest I found was VLC Direct. Can I use VLC Direct to play files on my SD Card right on my phone? I don't need the network features I just want a media player.

Edit: Turns out you need pro to change from streaming to local.

Hi to everyone here. It's nice to see how many people are willing to help those of us who are newbies to a lot of this ever evolving tech!

Does anyone know how much the VLC Pro costs? I haven't been able to find it in the Amazon App Store.
