VM Canada phones work on USA network?

If I were to get a Virgin Mobile Canada phone, would it work on my Virgin Mobile USA account? If not out-of-the-box, is there a way after rooting or such? or is that illegal?

im not sure if it would be illegal but im going to assume it will not work because virgin mobile usa runs off the sprint network, so the phone is programmed to sprint's network, virgin mobile canada does not run off sprint so i do not believe it would work out of box, but i could always be wrong.

Virgin Mobile Canada is running off the GSM technology while Virgin Mobile USA is running off of CDMA. It's highly unlikely to get the phone on the USA network because you would have to go to great lengths to get a CDMA phone on VMUSA anyway. So long story short no.

This has been asked over and over. VMUSA and VM Canada are 2 completely different carriers with nothing in common but the name.
