Root VM lg tribute v5 radios?

anybody have a backup of twrp flashable zip of the v4 or v5 radios? i need them for my kids devices. v6 broke wifi.

Did you update via TWRP or unrooted OTA?
If TWRP be sure to wipe cach and dalvik-cache
Once phone boots go to System Settings - - >System Updates. Select Update for PRL and then Profile.
You may need to select Activate Device option as well.

This should help. Let us know results.

I tried that on my wife's WallyWorld and it corrupted data connection and phone number. For some reason her phone ended up cloning my MAC address. I don't touch that type of stuff on phones, so this is a major security vulnerability/flaw. Virgin said "they are handling it". I also posted a warning in the OP for the zv6 update download (requested by @fixxxer1022)

Will the radio.img for the zv5 work with the zv6 update?
Is the stock zv5 radio.img the same as in @SuperR deodexed ROM?

Not sure if the radio.img will work.

I ran in to issues at time of zv6 OTA launch (my own fault) and the following worked for me.

DISCLAIMER: Quick guidance only for process that worked for me. Not responsible for any damage to device or data that may or may not occur.
  1. TWRP was installed already.
  2. http://androidforums.com/index.php?posts/6995586 - Download e2nas file
  3. Downloaded posted update file to external SD - http://androidforums.com/index.php?posts/7084395
  4. Restored zv5 stock (step 2) using TWRP
  5. Upon reboot just did minimum to get phone functional (settings, etc.)
  6. Booted to TWRP installed downloaded update.zip
  7. Rebooted.
  8. At this point phone unrooted so had to reroot and reinstall TWRP - http://androidforums.com/index.php?posts/6980040
Everything seems working okay at this point. Not all steps are needed by everyone but maybe they will be helpful.

EDIT: Corrected Links

Trust me I know about user error, that happened on my Acer a500. It turned into a brick and then I gave it life again.

As to doing the flashing of the zv5:
My wife is pissed that the update did this. She says "now it won't let me play my game". I don't want her any more upset than she is already, that is why I'm asking.
Will this work for the Walmart phone?

I'm not sure as I do not know difference between the two.

That said I will respond with standard help desk response. Ensure you have full nandroid before trying any edits.

The radio.img should not cause boot issues. Believe after boot phone will either be able to make calls or it won't. If able to make calls then test it out. If not then replace with zv6 radio.

Not straight answer, but maybe it will give you a starting point.

Anything is better than nothing.
Thanks. Now I have to ask if I can mess with my wife's phone again. Lol
If I get to try, I'll post results.

Tapping any of those links returns me to post #3 of this thread.

This worked for me. Don't forget to recreate mount scripts after updating if the phone is using Link2SD. :)

You should see some of the comments people are leaving on Play Store for link2sd, almost all negatives reviews are user negligence related. Sad. I've liked the app, but I have switched to Apps2sd by Vicky Bonick, great developer out of India (I think).

Well I haven't got to try that on my wife's phone yet (the boot.img reflash), but going to do it anyway tomorrow.
