Voice controlled SMS texting

hd2-droid

Lurker
Just wanted to share this cool app I found the other day. Its called Tap To Text. I was impressed that the app was able to recognize what I was saying almost all the time. Don't get me wrong; it would get stuff wrong and when it did it was sometimes funny what it thought I said :)

I like that I didn't have to import my contacts into the app. It looks like the app reads the contacts from my sim.

All in all its a pretty nice little app for $1.99. The other two voice SMS apps I tried didn't work as well and were hard to use.

Get Vlingo much better and FREE

I have to disagree with your opinion that Vlingo is better as a SMS app. It has the same problem that other voice SMS apps I tried have. It populates your default SMS app with the text you spoke.

Tap To Text is very different. There is no keyboard used when sending messages. You speak the name of the contact and message (like Vlingo) BUT tap to text is different to confirm the message. You don't have to read it... the message is read to you and you speak the word approve to approve the message (decline to re-speak the message). The message is then sent.

Being able to send a message WITHOUT having to read the message on the screen is what I was looking for when I found tap to text. That difference makes it a better app and for me. Worth the money.
