Alexa or Amazon firestick on any TV
Unfortunately you cannot turn on the tv with just a Amazon firestick.
Once it's on though, you speak into the remote. Some cable companies offer fully hands free voice activated options, like xfinity. Google may also offer this option also.

A friend of mine has a Samsung TV that came with 2 remotes, a conventional one and one with just a couple of buttons that was supposed to be used for voice control. She uses the conventional one, after finding the other more work in practice (I tried for a bit, but found it rather unreliable).
