Voice Dial does not give a voice prompt

Lurker
my new Motorola maxx: When I initiate a voice command from my Plantronics voyager legend, I never know what application will be engaged. At times I receive a voice prompt that says: "say call followed by a name or a number" I follow the instructions and then receive the following prompt: "say select 1 for etc., say select 2 for etc, say select 3 etc, or say cancel" This feature allows me make calls hands free without having to look at and touch the display. the display has a thin banner at the top that says google. This is the app that I wish to be my default, I don't know what the name of the app is. At other times, when I initiate a voice dial function from my headset, I get what appears to be the google now display, there is no voice prompts, and if I speak a command and there are multiple choices, there is no voice prompt and I am required to touch the display to complete the call. I don't know how to make the feature I prefer as my default. I never know which one is going to come up. I don't even really know the name of the app I like. I called Verizon tech support and could not be helped.
Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forums. On your device multiple apps do the same thing or similar. What you have to do is select if you want Google to handle your call making apk . also you need to set up the . many devices are not programmed to handle when you give a command like I WANT TO CALL "VOICEMAIL".

I've been having the same issue - different phone, but no matter, and I actually prefer the non-voice prompt as it take much longer. I am unsure what you mean by "select if you want Google to handle your call making apk "? What apk is it that google needs to be selected in? Appreciate any help.
