Hi all -
I got my Droid as part of Verizon's recent 2-for-1 deal. My Droid was buggy and was unable to accept platform updates, so I had to take it into the Verizon store to get it wiped and the newest Droid platform manually installed.
Prior to the wipe I was using Voice Recorder to make and set ringtones. When I got my phone back, I re-downloaded Voice Recorder, recorded an audio file, set it in Voice Recorder as a ringtone, then tested it. The Droid would not play my ringtone. Uninstalled and reinstalled Voice Recorder, no change.
I downloaded Recordoid and used it to make a ringtone. This ringtone was accepted by the Droid and played without a problem. It shows up in my list of ringtones in the Settings-->Sounds menu. FWIW, my Voice Recorder ringtones never showed up in this list, before OR after the wipe.
Any ideas why the Droid will not accept my Voice Recorder files as ringtones now? Thanks in advance!
