voice to text not working

Hi.

I have an Samsung Epic. Running 2.2.

All of a sudden the voice to text feature is failing. It translates my voice into jibberish. Happens in email, texting, AstridTasks, but works fine if I dictate into the Google search box.

I haven't changed anything on my phone in a while and this just started happening. I checked input language and it is set to English.

Any ideas?

Sounds like an issue with your mic perhaps? Grab a voice recorder off the market make sure your mic is recording clearly

The mic does work properly. I can use a voice recorder and I can dictate into the Google search box and translation is perfect every time. It's just when I'm working with an app or text/email that it acts up..

I just tried saying "it is going to rain" into a text and it came up as "el quisco eng sub"!
