Voice Unlock Not Working

I was hoping someone might be able to assist me here. Voice unlock via Google Assistant doesn't seem to work, it still asks for a fingerprint or code. Is there a way around this? It isn't a big deal but it's slightly irritating.

Personally, I would not trust this particular feature but I am given to understand that it is intended for use whilst the phone is either charging or in a dock.

I use it while I'm driving, it works so much better than my stupid infotainment center that's in the car. That thing is almost useless.

Have you gone into settings and set it to allow unlocking by voice? If so, delete your voice and re-train it. Sometimes that helps.
