Help Voicemail Notification

I can't get my voicemail notification off my phone even though I erased the voicemail. It comes up on my screen every time i turn the screen on and I can't get it off my notification bar. I have reset the phone several times. How do I get this off???

I don't know anything about it but I saw someone else complain about the same issue back a while ago and they were advised to reset "BadgeProvider". I don't know what it does but you get to it settings>applications manager>badgeprovider> clear data & clear defaults

I had this happen on my old Optimus V. Call your cell from another phone and leave yourself a voice mail. Then call your voice mail from your cell and delete all old messages. That fixed the problem when it happened to me,

Go to Settings->Call->Clear voicemail notification. Nice improvement from the Optimus V, where calling yourself was indeed the only option.
