Voicemail Problems on New Phone

NWNINA

So, I just got the Galaxy s3 because my beloved Skyrocket decided to die (motherboard). I set up everything, but then someone told me that the voicemail was not working and that the texts I sent were not being really sent (my phone says it was sent but the people did not receive them).
So when I pressed the #1 to activate my voicemail, I entered my 7 digit number and then it says that "sorry could not find the mailbox for that number. please enter the mailbox number specified by your system manager". So I went to the costumer service store and they said that I had to call, that they couldn't do anything. So I called and they literally told me to do a bunch of stuff; to turn it off and on, to remove the battery, and finally to do a factory reset (which I made me completely mad since I just downloaded everything) but nothing. No one got my texts and the voicemail still doesn't work. So they said, that I will just have to visit the store. In the store they said they can't do anything, that I have to call. What do I do.

AT&T Messaging has been screwed up since ICS came out. It is NOT compatible with ICS or Jelly Bean and does not work properly. I had to completely uninstall AT&T Messaging from my Atrix 2 AND have it disabled by AT&T from my account.

I exclusively use Google Voice with absolutely ZERO problems.
