Help VoLTE: Does phone call quality degrade with LTE signal?

JohnJSal

I feel like the answer is obvious, but I want to be sure. If I have VoLTE activated and my LTE signal degrades (happens indoors often), will my call quality suffer or can calls get dropped?

If I turn off VoLTE, does that mean call quality is no longer related to my LTE signal strength, but instead uses the regular connection as indicated by the number of bars I have?

Thanks!

if LTE degrades far enough, the phone will just switch downwards to a lessor level of service.

It is going to have to be a very weak signal before the audio goes to pot.... what you will usually hear is "missed syllables" and then it just drops the call.

Well, often indoors I have no data connection at all. So I was wondering if that would translate to no phone service either.
