Help VPN with Maxx is PPTP or IPSEC possible

bucknasty

Newbie
What is the version of android that ships with the maxx is it 2.3.6 or .7? I want to use IPsec with PSK or PPTP to connect with my office via VPN.

I know that this function has been broken in various releases of 2.3.x for years.

Does the version of 2.3.x shipping with the Maxx will allow for any successful VPN. Wanting to connect to a Cisco Vpn 3000 concentrator with either IPsec w/PSK or PPTP.

Seems it depends on the phone if this is possible. Some brands report it was possible, other not. I know that ICS is rumored to fix this. But the Maxx won't get ICS till 2013 if lucky. USA Maxx's are not even on the Motorola ICS release with a time.

Thanks

This just isn't true. Look at the actual chart the Moto put out. It lists every Verizon device at phase 1, while the non-Verizon branded devices have expected dates. Either you're naive to think Moto just decided to not bother updating any Verizon devices, or Verizon isn't letting Moto share any info about the update. Good money says the Verizon branded devices will get the update within 4 weeks of the non-branded versions.

I don't see a 2Q 2012 in this chart. Have they updated it? I am sure it will get ICS maybe sometime this year. Vz has to load down the phone with all their bloatware and testing which agreed adds another 30 days to it at least.
